The Spike Ring is part of Orbweaver’s exploration of biomorphic body objects — wearable forms that feel grown, evolved, and shaped by unseen natural forces.

Rather than referencing nature through surface decoration alone, the ring translates biological logic into form: defense structures, skeletal growth, horn formations, shells, claws, and exoskeletal armor. The result is an object that feels as though it belongs to a speculative organism, adapted for protection, display, and ritual.

The piece is developed through a hybrid digital process combining sculptural modeling, computational refinement, and hand finishing. Its sharp ridges and organic cavities are shaped digitally, then refined for balance, comfort, and wearability. From there, the design is 3D printed at high resolution before being cast in metal through traditional lost-wax casting techniques.

Each finished ring carries the precision of digital fabrication with the tactility of hand-polished metal, creating a wearable artifact that bridges futuristic design and ancient making methods.
